چکیده

The system performance of the supercritical CO2 Brayton cycle for Sodium Fast Reactor with a partial-cooling layout was studied, and an economic analysis carried out. energetic, exergetic, exergoeconomic analyses are presented, optimized results were compared recompression cycle. sensitivity conducted by considering variations in pressure ratios inlet temperatures main compressor turbine. exergy efficiency reached 63.65% net power output 34.39 MW via optimization. obtained minimum total cost rate 2230.36 USD/h when ratio equal to 3.50. temperature 35 °C, turbine 480 °C. recuperators decreased increase compressor. In addition, recuperator could be reduced increasing outlet change from loss destruction substantially larger than or Manipulating is essential method guarantee good economy system. Moreover, capital investment, operation, maintenance costs normally accounted large proportions rate, being almost double occurring each condition.

The Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (sfr)

The Sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) features a closed fuel cycle for efficient conversion of fertile uranium and management of minor actinides. A full actinide-recycle fuel cycle is envisioned with two major options: One involves intermediatesized (150 to 500 MWe) sodium-cooled fast reactors with uranium-plutonium-minor-actinidezirconium metal alloy fuel, supported by a fuel cycle based on pyr...

Experimental Approach to Flow Field Evaluation in Upper Plenum of Reactor Vessel for Innovative Sodium Cooled Fast Reactor

In Japan Atomic Energy Agency, an innovative sodium cooled fast reactor of 1500MWe class, JSFR, has been investigated on the Fast Reactor Cycle Technology Development project. A compact reactor vessel (R/V) and a column type upper inner structure with a radial slit for an arm of a fuel-handling machine are adopted. These result in increase of the spatial-averaged velocity on the horizontal cros...

A domain-specific analysis system for examining nuclear reactor simulation data for light-water and sodium-cooled fast reactors

Building a new generation of fission reactors in the United States presents many technical and regulatory challenges. One important challenge is the need to share and present results from new high-fidelity, high-performance simulations in an easily usable way. Since modern multiscale, multi-physics simulations can generate petabytes of data, they will require the development of new techniques a...

Variable Electricity with Base-load Reactor Operations Fluoride-salt-cooled High-temperature Reactor (FHR) with Nuclear Air-Brayton Combined Cycle (NACC) and Firebrick Resistance-Heated Energy Storage

In this century man will transition to a low-carbon energy future—either in first half of the century because of concerns about global climate and ocean pH (acidity) changes or in the second half of the century because of depletion of fossil resources in a world of 10 billion people. Since the caveman discovered fire, our energy policy has been to have a storable supply of a carbon fuel (wood, ...

Analysis of a High Temperature Supercritical Brayton Cycle for Space Exploration

This paper provides a preliminary analysis of the supercritical Brayton cycle, a power generation system for space exploration. Supercritical working fluids increase efficiency due to increased compressibility at the critical point but have not been investigated at the high temperatures necessary for space power generation. Through computer simulation, the viability of the supercritical Brayton...
